2. Answer the questions on the Word document that you have downloaded and e-mail it to your teacher.

 

3. Evaluation.

Part 1:

a)  Poetry analysis

·        Answer the following set of questions

i) The speakers and the situation

  • Who are the speakers? What kind of people are the speakers?
  • What is the occasion?
  • Summarize the events of the poem.
  • Paraphrase the poem.

 

b)  Answer the following set of questions

 

ii) Setting, purpose, theme and tone

1.               What is the setting in time (hour, season, century, and so on)? 

2.               What is the setting in place (indoors or out, city or country, land or sea, region, nation, hemisphere)?

3.               What is the central purpose of the poem?

4.               State the central idea or theme of the poem in a sentence.

5.               Discuss the tone of the poem. How is it achieved?

 

 

Part 2: In this part of the activity, you are asked to do ONE the following tasks:

 

(a) Criticize and evaluate the poem.

(b) Create a Power Point Presentation that is connected to the theme of the poem (The generation gap, mother-son relationship, or other). You may want to use photographs, drawings, music, sound effects, etc. The choice is yours.

(c) Create a photo story or a video clip. Upload it to You Tube (Remember: Think before you Post! - see the clip)

(d) Talk to your teacher and suggest a suitable alternative.
